Mustek Driver Install

This article is about how to install your Mustek scanner driver.

I have a really old Mustek Scanmagic 600 Cp scanner, but it works, and i got a used HP LaserJet 6L printer. This combo is very useful, if you are working with computers, and sometimes you need to email something with your sign, like domain registrations, etc…

I reinstalled my machine two month ago, and now i need my scanner.
I tried to use my previously downloaded drivers, but it sad:  “Corrupt installation media detected”.

Crap. No problem, maybe the files are crashed let’s go and download again. I downloaded from the official Mustek webpage:
http://www.mustek.com.tw/Download/driv_scanr/html/europe.html

The same shit happens. I tried to download it from several sites, and the result was always this error message.
What do i wrong? I asked myself. Maybe my newly installed COMODO firewall/antivirus software chop the files, so i disable it, but this error appears again. I tried to download it with an ftp client, what i set to binary mode, but fail again.

I tired the Win2K drivers, just because of frustration of me, no success again.

I am a developer, programmer, and i have a tons of softwares on my machine, maybe there are conflicts with some of them. I ran my VMPlayer virtual machine, with a clean install of XP with SP3.

The installer doesn’t gives me this error, and start to extract the files! The gladness was too early. I’ve get another error message:
“This installer is only for Windows XP”.

What the hell? I am running Windows XP, and it sad, it is only for XP, but doesn’t run. What a mess.
And then i started to think, and i thought, maybe some version conflict should be here, but i am not sure.

So, the solution was, to start the XP in safe mode, and install the driver.
This time, under safe mode there was no error message, and the driver installed, as it should. After this i restarted my computer, and viola, Mustek scanner now works.

Raised Bed Garden

I am always in trouble, when i should present a birthday gift. To buy a helpless thing is the worst thing ever, because  everybody has socks, ties, cups, etc… and these are boring and ordinary gifts.

I was very happy, when my girlfriend sad in February, she would like a raised beg garden. Her birthday is in April. So there was the idea, i should just build it.
I have a a friend, who is a carpenter, working with woods.

So i asked him to buy me some stuff for this garden. The cost of the wood was really cheap, it was only 7 000 HUF, (approximately $35).
He did bring it to me and i did start to work.

First, a dig a 1.5 x 2 meters hole. It should be deeper, but we rent this house, so we had no option to dig this hole anywhere in the garden.
This was the only place (see pictures), where i can dig it, and there is concrete, so i can not dig deeper.

Meanwhile, my girlfriend used some impegrated paint to protect the boards to rain.

After that i did start to build the frame. This isn’t a big job, you should just join the boards, and fix theme with screws.
When we placed the complete frame into the perfect place, we collected some twigs and leafs. This is important, because when it start to rotten, it gives a lot of power to the flowers, herbs, etc… We placed back on the digged dirt onto the twigs.

My girlfriend has a friend, who has a farm, so she asked him to give us some muck. He gave us 2 years old rotted manure (or muck) of horses, so we placed that on top of the soil.

When we finished with the garden, she planted some rucola, and spinach, and we will plant some potato, and strong pepper. Now we are waiting the results of the process :)

And i can tell that, the rucola is starting to grow, so it springs up from the soil!
It was only 5 days, and it started to grow, isn’t it wonderful?
So, this was my birthday present to my girlfriend, and she sad, she did never get a birthday gift like this.

My First Plugin: Banner Garden 0.1 realesed

I created a new site for my old escape games blog, and i did choose wordpress for it. I really like this blog engine, because of plugins. This gives me freedom.  So i did looking for a cool banner rotator script, which randomly rotate my banners. I found some, but it was hard to use, can not handle any type of banners, etc… So i decided, i will write my own. The other reason was, i would like to know how to write a plugin, understand the methods, i would like to know the functions, filters, actions.

So i wrote this plugin, and tested it, and it is works like a dream.

Welcome to my blog

Hello!

This is my first blog, moved from vasoczki.wordpress.com.

As you see, this blog is a “littlebit” ugly, because i worked hard on a (i hope) usable plugin for myself, and i had no time to make design, but i will, i promise.

You can read some information about me here.

I will develop some wordpress plugin, and publish it here, sometimes i will write something about me and my life, upload some pictures to share with the whole world.

I hope, i could share some usable informations with y’all in the future.
